My Logo Update

I wasn’t loving my logo, by itself, anymore, so I decided to update it. This was originally prompted by designing my first enamel pins and having to consider a backstamp design. I realized, that I didn’t have an iconic signature for my shop name, so this logo started with a sketch of just the text of “MxWolfsbane”, warped to look kind of like a mountain range. Then in a editing software, I took a free font and warped it to fit the shape. It was then that I noticed the kind of resemblance to a wolf’s head, and decided to illustrate such behind it. I then vectorized all the images that I created, incorporating my original logo into the design.

Independent Together

I created this design of Opal from Steven Universe rocking out of the electric guitar, as a stretch goal for my enamel pin Kickstarter coming in October. I originally wanted to do both her and Steg but realized that just Opal is enough on her own. I went for more cartoony looking features like the hands to create some visual interest and harmony.

Disobedient!

I watched the Steven Universe movie and fell in love with the song “Disobedient”- I knew I had to create something based off of it. I decided to go with a head of Sade Killer (an unfortunately fictional punk band from the show) sticking her tongue out and looking very defiant as a design. These will be made into hard enamel pins if my Kickstarter in October is successful!

The Gorgon

Medium: Digital

This is a Draw-This-In-Your-Style of Savannah Alexandra’s vintage gorgon. I chose to make her skin color a bit darker because I believe it went well with the hues that I chose. I especially loved doing the scales on each of the snakes, first adding highlights to each snake and going back and erasing the lines of the scales.

I Will Fight

For Amethyst’s design, I struggled selecting a quote from the show that I could create something from but ultimately settled for the line in the full version of the opening song. I created a vector rendition of her whip beside pieces of amethyst gems, continuing with the simple, yet iconic designs for the characters.

I am a Conversation

When I finished the Jam Buds design, I knew I wanted to do more. I decided to do one for Garnet next and tried to go with something iconic. I included both the fire of Ruby and the ice of Sapphire to show both components of Garnet, as well as creating a simplistic version of her gauntlets to display at the front.

Jam Buds

This design was the first of the four Steven Universe inspired designs that I’ve done. I wanted to create something that represented the beautiful friendship between Steven Quartz Universe and Connie Maheswaran. I remembered the episode where they shared a jar of strawberry jam and sang a cute “Jam Buds” song together and decided to base this design off of that scene.

My Previous Business Cards

Medium: Digital vector

For my business cards, I decided I wanted to go with something unique that would stand out from the crowd of cards that one picks up at art shows and conventions. I went with a square composition and simple designing with my already-made logo on top. I’ve deisgned a couple of business cards before and my frequent issue is over-complicating a small canvas, so I decided to go with something kind of minimal for my own. As a finishing touch, I ordered them with glistening, gold foil where the design shows gold.
